Best places to eat in Port Saint Lucie, Florida

I grew up in Miami where I was accustomed to having great restaurants in every corner. A smaller town like Port Saint Lucie also has some places that are worth checking out when you just don’t feel like cooking.

Tavola Pizza – I enjoy the specialty pizzas there. The spinach salad is good and the wings are nice and meaty. Oh yes and their garlic knots are divine. This place is consistent for their pizza and the ambiance is totally tubular.

Benihana in Stuart This one is not technically in Port Saint Lucie – but it is close enough. Benihana is notoriously expensive for dinner. However, they have incredible lunch specials. Go in there between 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and as for their lunch menu. The prices are very reasonable and you get all of the goodies you get for lunch – soup or salad, fried rice, sauteed veggies and the meat of your choice. The options are shrimp, scallops, filet and chicken and range in price from $9.50-$14.50. Make sure to ask them for the mustard sauce. They have recently substituted it for the “Yum Yum” sauce which I don’t love. The mustard sauce is way good.

Buffalo Wild Wings is Pretty consistently good – I enjoy their mango habanero wings. Be Warned – they are extremely tasty and spicy.

Vine and Barley – for drinks and appetizers – I have personally never been there, which is weird because it is 3 minutes from my house. But my friends all rave about it. I hear it gets very packed on Fridays and Saturdays and that it is tons of fun. I will have to try it soon. The owners of Vine and Barley were my neighbors a few years ago. I better go soon.

LA HACIENDITA SUPER TAQUERIA – this place is in Fort Pierce which is not exactly Port Saint Lucie. Still it is just a short drive and it is completely a flip flops and shorts kind of place. It is soo good. The Carne Asada Tacos and the Gorditas are amazing here. Wash it down with a Jarrito soda and it is the bomb.

My #1 favorite restaurant by far in Port Saint Lucie is FERNANDOS This place is classy and delicious. My favorite things there are the Mariscada (if you like seafood) it is oh so delicious. Lobster claws, Clams, Mussels, Shrimp and more in a spicy tomato sauce over linguine. It is so yum. They serve it along with warm bread rolls. I love their sangria and their tropical salad which is huge enough to share. Occasionally they have chocolate mousse and it is divine. But truly everything is good there. The staff is very nice and on Fridays and Saturdays I would recommend reservations.
